Relativity Co-CEO Ryan Kavanaugh is a longtime philanthropist involved in a number of charitable causes around the world. He serves as chairman emeritus of The Art of Elysium, an organization focused on helping actors, musicians, and artists donate their time and talents to children with serious medical conditions. At the 2014 Night Before Gala, Ryan Kavanaugh raised $2 million onstage for The Art of Elysium, in addition to $1 million for the Los Angeles Ballet.
In 2014, Ryan Kavanaugh was honored with the Tom Sherak Award, the highest distinction offered by the Fulfillment Fund. Dedicated to helping children growing up in underserved communities, the Fulfillment Fund makes college a real prospect for teens who otherwise would not have the opportunity. Kavanaugh also received the Community Champion Award from the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation, where he acts as a mentor to children and teenagers in inner-city communities. In addition, he is a recipient of the 2011 Entertainment Industry Award from the Anti-Defamation League and the Hollywood Humanitarian Award from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Board of Governors.
Over the years, Ryan Kavanaugh has displayed a deep passion for animal welfare. In 2013, he partnered with Rocky Keever to found Dog For Dog, an all-natural dog food company that donates a bag of food to an animal shelter for each bag a customer purchases. In just one year, Dog For Dog donated over 250,000 pounds of food to shelters.
Kavanaugh is the co-chairman and co-chief executive officer of Relativity, a multi-channel studio operating in numerous film and television markets. Under his leadership, the company has produced, financed, or distributed upwards of 200 motion pictures that have collectively earned 60 Academy Award nominations.
